What stays on your device
Takes Takes saves your settings, how many positions you solved, your best Rush score and which positions you have already seen in your browser's local storage. It also stores the app's own files so it works offline. None of this is sent anywhere; you can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you load a page, Vercel's servers process technical data that every web request carries, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser's user agent, and may keep it in server logs for a short time. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel may process this data in the USA; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Visit counts
To know how many people use Takes Takes, visits are counted with GoatCounter, operated by Martin Tournoij, Ireland, on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in Finland and Germany. For each visit GoatCounter records only totals: the page, the referring site, browser and operating system, screen width, language and country (derived from your IP address). It stores no IP addresses and no full user agent, sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. To avoid counting a visit twice, it keeps a random ID for your IP address and browser in memory for up to eight hours, then discards it. This helps me see whether the site is used and where visitors come from (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GoatCounter's privacy policy.

Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Since Takes Takes keeps no personal data on its own servers, the only data involved is the hosting provider's server logs and the anonymous visit counts described above.
